At “Rigas Hotel Skopelos” we focus on our guests’ experience and our priority is always your comfort and contentment. Now, more than ever, considering COVID-19, we focus on the health and safety of all our guests and employees, without overlooking the quality of your experience while staying with us.

We closely follow the guidelines of leading health experts, the World Health Organization, and the Greek state. We have taken all safety measures, building on the health protocols of the National Public Health Organization (NPHO).

In addition to all the measures we are willing to take for your health and safety, it is important that you understand and comply with the rules of personal hygiene and protection.

Hotel Reception – Check-In

When a new guest enters the hotel, the following take place:

• Hand disinfection by contactless device
• Thermal screening
• Contactless Check-In: The hotel has adopted the practice of contactless check-in via a digital application. All the necessary information is digitally filled by the guest, resulting in maximum safety and reliability of the information.
• Compulsory extension of check-in and check-out hours between stays (Check-in after 3.00 pm and Check-out until 11.00 am).

Our Hotel Reception provides:

1. a) Special medical equipment (medical kit) that includes disposable gloves, disposable surgical masks, sanitizers, disinfecting wipes, gowns, long-sleeved robes, and laser thermometers.
2. b) Protective vertical surfaces (plexiglass) between guests and employees.
3. c) Supply boxes with disinfectants, disposable surgical masks, and gloves for guests in case they request them.

The room keys are delivered after being disinfected with a special device. The remote controls are delivered in disposable covers after being disinfected and sterilized. The information leaflets are placed in showcases and are received directly by the guests.

Physical Distancing Measures

Guests are informed to keep a distance of at least 1.5m apart from other guests who do not travel with them when in the Reception or the common areas of the hotel. Floor markings have been placed to indicate safe distances.

Common Areas

The frequency of cleaning and disinfection has increased in all areas with an emphasis on surfaces of frequent contact, i.e., the Reception, door handles, restrooms, room keys, stair railings, dining areas, and seating areas. It is highly recommended for all guests to use their room toilet instead of the shared restrooms when possible. Hand sanitizers are provided at the hotel entrances, reception, common areas, and the swimming pool.

Kitchen – Restaurant – Bar

The kitchen, restaurant, and bar operate following the current regulatory framework. Hand sanitizer is provided at the buffet and the staff makes sure that it is used correctly by guests. Keeping physical distances is mandatory when guests are serving themselves at the buffet.

Swimming Pool Operation

According to the cleaning and disinfection protocols, the swimming pool operates under specific rules of chlorination, pH regulation, and disinfection. Sunbeds and chairs are disinfected after each use and placed at least 1.5m apart. Up to 15 people are allowed in the pool.

Hotel Rooms

The rooms are cleaned according to the provisions of the Health Protocols set by the Greek state. Observance of cleaning and disinfection program, according to JM 6632/2021 (Government Gazette B ‘1632 / 21.04.2021). Particular attention is paid to frequent contact surfaces (i.e., door handles, tables, bedside tables, etc.). Air conditioning units are cleaned regularly following the protocols of the National Public Health Organization (NPHO).

Products and Protocols of Cleaning and Disinfection

Our hotel uses certified cleaning products against viruses and bacteria and follows protocols that meet the instructions of the National Public Health Organization (NPHO).

Staff Training and Responsibilities

“Rigas Hotel Skopelos” was one of the first hotels in Greece to receive the official state certification “Health First”. This certification proves that the hotel fully complies with the health protocols of the Greek state. The hotel staff has attended training programs regarding the implementation of the health protocols.

Following the instructions of the National Public Health Organization (NPHO) for the containment of COVID-19, “Rigas Hotel Skopelos” is in direct contact with a doctor to effectively manage any possible COVID-19 case. If you begin to experience symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please inform the Hotel immediately.
